We are hiring for our important chemical client: Accounting Generalist.

Summary of Position:
The Accounting Generalist manages the day-to-day accounting and office functions of the Uruguay production site. This includes office management and various accounting duties- primarily cost accounting, general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable; while performing these functions with effective policies, procedures, and internal controls. Additional duties include process order review, and plant operations support. Manages the Fixed Asset System and safeguards the company’s assets.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
- Proficient in communicating in English.
- 3 – 5+ years of experience working in an office environment.
- 1 - 3+ years of experience in accounting, cost accounting required.
- Knowledge of ERP-oriented accounting systems; SAP preferred.
- Advanced computer skills including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software applications. Ability to leverage technology to gain efficiencies.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading and effective follow-up skills. English is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, self-starter, energetic.
- Able to handle highly confidential information.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Able to adhere to tight deadlines.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Supports company operations by maintaining accounting and office systems.
- Service and support to Suppliers (in person or by phone).
- When necessary, could contact a customer, in case the customer is in debt with the company in Accounts Receivable and make the necessary collection.
- Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures, coordinating payroll, and assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
- Product cost accounting, and production variance analysis.
- Accounts payable function management, coordination with Brazil/U.S.

- Billing and Accounts receivable function management; including Intercompany and Third Party.
- Lead SAP month-end closing process to ensure deadlines are met.
- Preparation and posting of journal entries to the general ledger.
- Assure accurate posting of journal entries into the SAP ERP system.
- Plan, organize and direct all the activities of the cost accounting function; including month-end closing processes to related to cost accounting (SAP, journal entries, and reconciliations).
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Product Cost accounting; including process order review and management support.
- Prepare managerial reports and spreadsheets as requested.
- Assists the Country Manager, Managing Director, and Controller and members of the Finance Dept. as needed.
- Assists outside accountants/auditors as needed.
- Attends required meetings both internal and external. This may include evening and weekend meetings as well as overnight travel.
- Perform other essential functions as assigned.

- Adheres to all Company safety standards, trainings, and other HS&E requirements.
- Report’s injury/illness and/or environmental incidents.
