Junior Developer

We are looking for great, enthusiastic software developers that share our values and want to join our team as developers in the engineering department, where they will handle tasks learning and applying new technologies. Positions are available both for graduates and undergraduates in Computer Engineering or similar careers. Undergraduates should have most of the first three career years finished.

You will be working directly on real products, in direct communication with the client, wherever it is. Together with your team, you must understand the client challenges, providing effective and high quality solutions to design and develop. You have a say on the project work and we expect a high desire to learn and apply new patterns.

Your team and the company will be relying on you helping us improve all, as persons and engineers. Your kind, positive and team-focused attitudes will have a real and powerful effect on everybody, including yourself.

The Challenge
You will be faced with creating solutions to challenges in web and mobile software, that require outstanding analytic skills and a deep comprehension of the web stack and architecture.

Typical challenges that you will be directly tasked with include:
- data modelling and API programming in Python/Django,
- web frontend development in React and
- everything regarding being part of a SCRUM team.

You will also use other tools and methodologies, such as cloud technologies, git repositories, Docker and kubernetes and other additionals that your project might need.

As stated above, you will be communicating to clients directly. You must then have fluency in english, both written and verbally, since several are foreign.

Working with us
At Octobot we use Scrum and support full self-management within a project and each individual team member. Usually, you team will be 2-4 people in size.

At the beginning of a project, a team is assembled from all members and are diversely selected based on a combination of experience, capabilities and skill set. You’ll be assigned at one project at a time and usually work with same team from start to delivery and deploy, getting in touch with the client on a weekly basis.

All developers are full-stack, but each team member has it’s preferences and natural abilities which are taken into consideration by the rest of the team when distributing work and tasks.
