Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Project Engineer to join our Engineering team at PepsiCo's Concentrate Manufacturing Plant located in Colonia, Uruguay. This role will lead capital projects from a technical perspective in order to ensure safe & effective execution and managing contractors in compliance with PepsiCo’s Health & Safety standards. This position will maintain close collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality and EHS areas while identifying and implementing best practices. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably GMP), superior project management skills, a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical engineering. He/she must be a team player and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Position Purpose and Primary Accountabilities:
•Lead capital projects from a technical perspective in order to ensure safe & effective execution of each phase of project implementation.
•Identify project milestones and work with external and/or internal cross-functional project teams & activities to drive execution of project plan.
•Define equipment specifications and manage the selection, procurement and acceptance testing of plant equipment as required. This will include process and utility equipment, installation and plant infrastructure.
•Ensure the project engineering work is completed in a compliant manner with regard to both execution and documentation.
•Collect Voice of the Customer to define project objectives, deliverables, and success metrics.
•Design in health, safety and environmental best practice into project and ensure that all project work is completed in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
•Raise capital requests in TrackWise to secure project funding.
•Provide detailed project specifications, SOWs, RFPs, drawings, Gantt charts, procedures, complying with PepsiCo’s Engineering Standards, SOPs, and site GMP procedures.
•Ensure that project work is completed with minimal disruption and is fully integrated into the operational areas (incl. procedures, training, etc.).
•Raise purchase orders in SAP for equipment, parts, and services acquisitions.
•Perform factory acceptance tests as required.
•Manage Contractors to execute project work as per PepsiCo’s Health & Safety standards.
•Ensure successful installation, commissioning & validation of equipment.
•Advocate and influence improvements over conventional practices, passionately driving process excellence, resource conservation and continually striving for 'Breakthrough Improvement'.
•Maintain control over and optimize the operation of Clean-In-Place systems.
•Assist Manufacturing and Maintenance with small improvement projects and with plant equipment troubleshooting.
•Maintain close collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality and EHS while identifying and implementing best practices.
Experience and competencies required:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering minimum (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical).
•5 – 8 years Engineering Experience in a manufacturing environment including demonstrated project management skills.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•Advanced command of the English language both spoken and written.
•Demonstrable record of projects being delivered within schedule and budgetary constraints whilst meeting & exceeding customer, quality and technical requirements.
•Ability to lead individuals and teams, working on own initiative and being self-motivated.
•Knowledgeable in the application of risk identification & project management techniques.
•Have experience of managing projects and familiar with use of project plans, issue and risk management and change control.
•Effective leader and facilitator within a team with the ability to influence and manage other internal and external suppliers to the design/development process to ensure the timely success of the project.
•Ability to read P&ID and electrical single line drawings.
•Good understanding and experience of current manufacturing technologies and methodologies used in Food/Beverage/Chemical environments.
•Have a meticulous approach to quality and familiarity with FMEAs/risk assessment.
•Advanced knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.). Proficient in SAP and MS Office tools.
•Good understanding of PLC and SCADA systems.
